The supporters of SC Maceira booed when Barreira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Carreira in the 43rd minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 83rd minute, Mário Sousa made a precise shot to the right of Vicente França. SC Maceira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Paulo Neto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vicente França having to make a save. After a rather tough play, SC Maceira's Tiago Valente got a free kick in the 88th minute. If Artur Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Maceira had won after a very even match.
