The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gustavo Antunes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Fernando Alves. In the 25th minute, Luís Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Joaquim Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustavo Antunes. Gustavo Antunes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Filipe Carvalho. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Rocha was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Barreira's Mário Sousa got a free kick in the 51st minute. Gustavo Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Rocha in the 55th minute of the match. Manuel Pacheco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gustavo Antunes. Barreira's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Barreira's Augusto Viana got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 63rd match minute, Subal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Pinto to maneuver through the defense. After 67 minutes of play, Subal FC's Joaquim Rodrigues made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
