Abílio Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Ramos in the 6th minute of play. José Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. If Vítor Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Micael Pinhal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Resende having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Micael Pinhal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micael Pinhal in the 29th minute of play. Afonso Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Resende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. José Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abílio Quadros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vítor Amorim went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Ramos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joaquim Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Montenegro in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Afonso Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cancela's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Resende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vítor Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, José Ramos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paulos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Afonso Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th match minute, Paulos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Moutinho to maneuver through the defense.
