In the 9th minute Carlos Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. António Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Fraiao's Domingos Marques broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 14 played minutes Tavaredes FC got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Leão. António Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Mário Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando Pinheiro was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Adelino Paiva capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adelino Paiva really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 26th minute, António Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Fraiao getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Jorge Cardoso hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the game, António Vale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Mário Baptista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mário Baptista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from António Vale went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Adelino Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Pinheiro having to interfere. After the first half Tavaredes FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Carlos Andrade made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Tavaredes FC's Cláudio Pinheiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mário Baptista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Andrade blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Pinheiro having to make a save. Tavaredes FC's Armando Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Sansone in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tavaredes FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
