Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Adelino Manso kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valter Trindade during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pipa booed when Benfica do Minho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valter Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Manuel Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If António Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hermano Moita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Pinho in the 11th minute of play. Pipa's António Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Hermano Moita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio Paredes hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Adelino Manso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simão Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simão Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th match minute, Pipa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão Cabral to maneuver through the defense. André Freitas's late challenge caught a Benfica do Minho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Pipa got a freekick which was hit by André Freitas. In the 33rd minute, Pipa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Adelino Manso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. António Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hermano Moita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cláudio Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Manso, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 42 played minutes Pipa got a freekick which was hit by Lúcio Paredes. After a defensive mix-up in Pipa's zone, Adelino Manso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Mendes came out of the goal and Adelino Manso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zacarias Alvarenga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Cláudio Mendes made a huge save. After 46 played minutes Pipa got a freekick which was hit by Simão Cabral. Zacarias Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Cláudio Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Magalhães made a kick off. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Benfica do Minho! Zacarias Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Cláudio Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Benfica do Minho. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Adelino Manso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benfica do Minho's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Manso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cláudio Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Zacarias Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benfica do Minho's Hermano Moita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Benfica do Minho from getting a goal against them. Hermano Moita came out of the goal and Manuel Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Magalhães might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hermano Moita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Magalhães ran back to his position shaking his head. After 88 played minutes Benfica do Minho got a freekick which was hit by Benedito Ramires. A collision led to Benfica do Minho getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Benedito Ramires hit a great ball. Zacarias Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Adelino Manso came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Benfica do Minho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Manso couldn't finish the play. Zacarias Alvarenga took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Mendes. Cláudio Mendes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
