In the 82nd minute, Rui Moutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gabriel Ferro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Ademar Vidal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. SC Canal's Tomás Matias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Cruz in the 88th minute of play. Ademar Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Moutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Moutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Vidal having to interfere. The supporters of FC Desportivo de Leiria booed when SC Canal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Canal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
