Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Viriato Monteiro kicked off to start the match. After 2 played minutes, fc matosinhos's Vivaldo Nunes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sandro Dias came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in fc matosinhos reached it. The audience was convinced that Viriato Monteiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvano Faria was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Vargem FC's Heitor Moura got a free kick in the 9th minute. Sandro Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herberto Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When Vargem FC's Viriato Monteiro in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye fc matosinhos's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Vargem FC booed when fc matosinhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, fc matosinhos's goal looked a bit too open when José Torres came free, but Silvano Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vargem FC's Sandro Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herberto Quadros in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Vargem FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. João Porto hit a great ball. José Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Faria having to interfere. Telmo Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Herberto Quadros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sandro Dias. That made the score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. If Telmo Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. fc matosinhos's Telmo Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Heitor Moura hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Sandro Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herberto Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Lourenço Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandro Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herberto Quadros's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Viriato Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Silvano Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. fc matosinhos's Silvano Faria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save fc matosinhos from getting a goal against them. Viriato Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Silvano Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Herberto Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 80 minutes, Telmo Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. fc matosinhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Telmo Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herberto Quadros took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sandro Dias. Sandro Dias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. José Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Faria having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. fc matosinhos had won after a very even match.
