Hamilton Figueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the game, FC Mafirosi's Eduardo Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeferino Coelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 9 played minutes, FC Mafirosi's Albérico Fagundes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zeferino Coelho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Mafirosi reached it. 9 minutes into the match, FC Mafirosi's Eduardo Barros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeferino Coelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ramiro Lages's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hamilton Figueira was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Zacarias Mourato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamilton Figueira having to interfere. Hamilton Figueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarias Mourato in the 23rd minute of the match. Eduardo Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Zeferino Coelho made a huge save. Zeferino Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heitor Neto in the 25th minute of play. A hard shot 27 in the game by Eduardo Barros from a close distance when the talented Zeferino Coelho managed to make a qualified save. Palhagueira's players were relieved. A collision led to Palhagueira getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Jacinto Gueifão hit a great ball. Zeferino Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heitor Neto in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute, Ramiro Lages got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Hamilton Figueira made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Ramiro Lages sent off a good shot on target. Eduardo Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Hamilton Figueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zacarias Mourato succeeded in the game's 65th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarias Mourato in the 74th minute of play forced FC Mafirosi's goalkeeper Hamilton Figueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zacarias Mourato in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hamilton Figueira saved FC Mafirosi from getting behind. When Rogério Assis fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palhagueira's protests and gave Rogério Assis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palhagueira getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Rogério Assis hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Eduardo Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Mafirosi's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeferino Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zacarias Mourato blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hamilton Figueira having to make a save. If Eduardo Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Palhagueira's Zacarias Mourato slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hamilton Figueira. That made the score 2-3 after 98 minutes of play. The Palhagueira supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palhagueira would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
