André Sabrosa's late challenge caught a Borússia Doutro Mundo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Sabrosa helped the player get up and apologised. Borússia Doutro Mundo's Cláudio Assunção proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Borússia Doutro Mundo from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Cândido Mendes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucas Regueira was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Borússia Doutro Mundo's zone, Sidónio Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Assunção came out of the goal and Sidónio Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Borússia Doutro Mundo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! After 60 minutes Borússia Doutro Mundo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sálvio Poças who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Américo Maia heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 65 minutes into the match, Borússia Doutro Mundo's goal looked a bit too open when Sidónio Silva came free, but Cláudio Assunção reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Sporting C P's goal looked a bit too open when António Monteiro came free, but Lucas Regueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
