Salvador Abrantes made an important save on a dangerous shot by António Fonseca in the 6th minute. After 7 played minutes Carraptinha II got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Coelho. Fernando Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Boaventura, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. António Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when António Fonseca got free with Salvador Abrantes in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th minute, Lúcio Sacadura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Monteiro in the 19th minute of play forced Carraptinha II's goalkeeper Salvador Abrantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Albertino Boaventura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carraptinha II's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertino Boaventura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Dantas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute, Miguel Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th minute, Albertino Boaventura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Carraptinha II's Salvador Abrantes got control of the ball when António Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th minute Albertino Boaventura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Tinoco in the 46th minute of play forced Merlaes FC's goalkeeper Fernando Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albertino Boaventura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Salvador Abrantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Monteiro in the 55th minute of the match. Miguel Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Merlaes FC's Bruno Monteiro got a free kick in the 59th minute. Fernando Dantas made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Miguel Tinoco sent off a good shot on target. In the 65th match minute, Merlaes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Pires to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, António Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merlaes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but António Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salvador Abrantes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Bruno Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salvador Abrantes having to interfere. Salvador Abrantes came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Merlaes FC's Bruno Monteiro. But to his dismay, Bruno Monteiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. With an all-out effort, Carraptinha II's Fernando Dantas threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Albertino Boaventura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Merlaes FC's Adolfo Fontes got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, Leandro Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Monteiro in the 95th minute of play forced Carraptinha II's goalkeeper Salvador Abrantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salvador Abrantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Fonseca in the 97th minute of play.
