The referee ignored Querenca FC's protests and gave Eusébio Neves a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Querenca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Neves to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gusmão Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gusmão Fernandes in the 11th minute of play forced Querenca FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, BENFICA DO MUNDO's goalkeeper Danilo Brandão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afonso Figueiredo. In the 19th minute, Tiago Taborda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Taborda in the 24th minute of play forced Querenca FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BENFICA DO MUNDO's Tiago Taborda got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Tiago Taborda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. BENFICA DO MUNDO's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Joel Bessa 34 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Tiago Taborda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Bessa was the one to do the kick off. BENFICA DO MUNDO's Gusmão Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. BENFICA DO MUNDO's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Furtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. BENFICA DO MUNDO's Gusmão Fernandes was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 80th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Joaquim Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gusmão Fernandes in the 85th minute of play. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Querenca FC! Mateus Vale walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Gusmão Fernandes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonso Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Brandão having to interfere. Querenca FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
