Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Paulo Leal started the match with the kick off. Selao FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Paulo Leal 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Jorge Soares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diogo Viegas in the 8th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Selao FC's zone, Humberto Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Soares came out of the goal and Humberto Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diogo Viegas in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jorge Soares, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 12th match minute, Selao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Moniz to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 13 minutes, Diogo Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curraleira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogo Viegas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Vasco Leão fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curraleira FC's protests and gave Vasco Leão a yellow card for diving instead. Vasco Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Lúcio Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Matias in the 19th minute of the match. Jorge Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Leão in the 31st minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Curraleira FC's Jorge Soares threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Humberto Leão, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Selao FC's Simão Ramos got a free kick in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Leal in the 43rd minute of play forced Selao FC's goalkeeper Jorge Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 played minutes Selao FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Moniz. Curraleira FC's Paulo Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when António Matias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Curraleira FC's Lúcio Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Curraleira FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Curraleira FC booed when Selao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Matias in the 71st minute of play forced Curraleira FC's goalkeeper Lúcio Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When André Melo fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curraleira FC's protests and gave André Melo a yellow card for diving instead. António Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Pinho having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simão Ramos got free with Lúcio Pinho in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 79 minutes, Simão Ramos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Selao FC and the Curraleira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Selao FC got a freekick which was hit by Simão Ramos. Lúcio Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from António Matias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Pinho having to interfere. Humberto Leão hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After 88 played minutes Curraleira FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Leão. Selao FC's Domingos Paiva shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 89th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Lúcio Pinho but with some difficulty. In the 90th match minute, Curraleira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasco Leão to maneuver through the defense. When Selao FC's António Matias, in the 91st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Selao FC. In the 96th minute, Adelino Anjos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Selao FC's Jorge Soares didn't even have to move. Selao FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
