With an all-out effort, pleno fc's Valério Lousada threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anselmo Palha, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 19 minutes into the game, Leonel Leme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. pleno fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vargem SC the free kick. In the 22nd minute Anselmo Palha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério Lousada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 23 minutes, Lucílio Paião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vargem SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucílio Paião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Danilo Durães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sálvio Telinhos in the 24th minute of play. Anselmo Palha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Valério Lousada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sálvio Telinhos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evandro Belém to strike the kick off in the second half. Danilo Durães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evandro Belém's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After 55 played minutes, pleno fc's Manuel Santiago shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valério Lousada came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in pleno fc reached it. Evandro Belém struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Danilo Durães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vargem SC. The supporters of pleno fc booed when Vargem SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Barroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valério Lousada came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by pleno fc's Adolfo Aleixo. But to his dismay, Adolfo Aleixo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Adolfo Aleixo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Valério Lousada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Evandro Belém came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Vargem SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Belém couldn't finish the play. Evandro Belém struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Danilo Durães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vargem SC. After 88 played minutes Vargem SC got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Furtado. After a defensive mix-up in Vargem SC's zone, Anselmo Palha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valério Lousada came out of the goal and Anselmo Palha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Aleixo in the 97th minute of play forced Vargem SC's goalkeeper Valério Lousada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
