Leonardo Vasques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Pires's goalkeeper Tarcísio Esparteiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 9 played minutes SC Pires got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Palma. After a defensive mix-up in SC Pires's zone, Vicente Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tarcísio Esparteiro came out of the goal and Vicente Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oliveira Pereira succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Guterres in the 20th minute of play forced SC Machialinho's goalkeeper Basílio Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Carneiro hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. SC Machialinho's Oliveira Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tarcísio Esparteiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vicente Pinho's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Vicente Pinho struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Tarcísio Esparteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Machialinho. When Leonardo Vasques came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the SC Pires fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonardo Vasques couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonardo Vasques was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Oliveira Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 66 minutes of play, SC Pires's Donato Guterres made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Basílio Esteves was left in no man's land by his defense there! Basílio Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Vasques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 73 played minutes SC Machialinho got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Pinho. Tarcísio Esparteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Pinho in the 78th minute of the match. If Oliveira Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Oliveira Pereira notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of SC Pires's Tarcísio Esparteiro. Tarcísio Esparteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 93 minutes, Oliveira Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Machialinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliveira Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Pires players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Machialinho.
