The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diogo Campos during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Freineda booed when Cadaveira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 minutes, Afonso Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Freineda and the Cadaveira players grew even worse after the yellow card. The goalkeeper, Nuno Miranda, was totally fooled by Cadaveira's Nuno Moniz, who 16 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Nuno Miranda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mário Campos in the 30th minute. In the 40th minute, Mário Campos made a precise shot to the right of Nuno Miranda. SC Freineda's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

After having played for 54 minutes, Bento Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cadaveira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bento Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sérgio Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Freineda's Sérgio Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miguel Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Luís Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mário Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Miranda having to interfere. Cadaveira's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
