Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Gaspar to make the kick off. In the 51stth minute of the game Manuel Resende who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Vargos's Simão Dantas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Miguel Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Gaspar in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miguel Pinho saved Aramenha from getting behind. Álvaro Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Pinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Aramenha's Miguel Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Gaspar in the 62nd minute of play. Carlos Oliveira hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 70th match minute, Aramenha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Oliveira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. André Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Miguel Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Resende struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Simão Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aramenha. André Gaspar's late challenge caught a Aramenha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Vargos's André Gaspar got a free kick in the 95th minute. The SC Vargos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Vargos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
