Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sandro Luz started the match with the kick off. Jordão Azenha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Luz in the 3rd minute of the match. Carlos Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Jordão Azenha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 12 minutes into the game, when Afonso Carneiro put in a rough tackle. 11 minutes into the game, one of Mesieiro:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 18 minutes into the match, Mesieiro's Carlos Cunha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jordão Azenha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th minute, Albertino Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jordão Azenha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Hugo Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mesieiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palames FC the free kick. Miguel Santos's late challenge caught a Palames FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Santos helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes Mesieiro got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Santos. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Correia was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Mesieiro's João Lopes got a free kick in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Correia in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amílcar Moniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute, Carlos Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Palames FC's zone, Carlos Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordão Azenha came out of the goal and Carlos Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Cunha got free with Jordão Azenha in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humberto Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute, Maurício Belo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordão Azenha having to interfere. Albertino Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jordão Azenha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Albertino Pires was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
