With a left leg Alfredo Moreira saved SC Podence from getting behind. Rodrigo Sousa charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodrigo Sousa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Lebres's Rodrigo Sousa got a free kick in the 41st minute. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Moreira was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nuno Moniz helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 played minutes SC Podence got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Moniz. Alfredo Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Filipe Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Júlio Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Podence's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Viegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Nuno Moniz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. After a defensive mix-up in SC Podence's zone, Rodrigo Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Moreira came out of the goal and Rodrigo Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the game, Alexandre Leiria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Podence's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lebres the free kick. In the 93rd match minute, SC Podence was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Leiria to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SC Podence's zone, Rodrigo Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Moreira came out of the goal and Rodrigo Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lebres walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
