An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Moutinho in the 8th minute of play forced SC Ferreiras's goalkeeper Jaime Caldas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Filinto Marques fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Ferreiras's protests and gave Filinto Marques a yellow card for diving instead. Israel Palmeira hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The supporters of SC Ferreiras booed when Mancos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Moutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Homero Mafra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Alfredo Leão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mancos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Ferreiras the free kick. Valter Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Branco having to interfere. After some careless play in the SC Ferreiras defense, Artur Branco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaime Caldas. The SC Ferreiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaime Caldas should have stopped the shot. Filipe Domingues hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After 29 played minutes SC Ferreiras got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Campelo. Jaime Caldas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristiano Moutinho's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Jaime Caldas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the SC Ferreiras defense, Rui Alves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaime Caldas. The SC Ferreiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaime Caldas should have stopped the shot. Cristiano Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Mancos FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Homero Mafra made a kick off. Mancos FC's Cristiano Moutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artur Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Caldas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Moutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Ferreiras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Cristiano Moutinho scored to the left of an out of position Jaime Caldas, making the score, 0-3. The supporters of Mancos FC booed when SC Ferreiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valter Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Valter Coutinho sped through Mancos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jorge Branco. Rui Alves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaime Caldas having to make a save. Homero Mafra might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Branco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Homero Mafra ran back to his position shaking his head. Homero Mafra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Branco having to interfere. When Valter Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the SC Ferreiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valter Coutinho couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the match, Mancos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Homero Mafra came free, but Jorge Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Mancos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mancos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
