After having played for 15 minutes, Daniel Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Gontim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Anjos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Mancos FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Filipe Domingues hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Daniel Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Gontim's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Anjos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alexandre Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Gontim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Cardoso couldn't finish the play. António Sá's late challenge caught a SC Gontim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. António Sá helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Mancos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Sá to maneuver through the defense. David Valério took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jorge Branco. Mancos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Mancos FC's Jorge Branco got control of the ball when Alexandre Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Artur Branco hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Cristiano Moutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rui Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Isidro Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alexandre Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Rui Alves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isidro Machado. SC Gontim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rui Alves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristiano Moutinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Isidro Machado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Moutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the match, SC Gontim's goalkeeper Isidro Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristiano Moutinho. Frederico Sales charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
