In the 4thth minute of the game Manuel Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Biscaia's Francisco Freitas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Manuel Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golpilheira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Freitas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Golpilheira FC's Artur Pinto got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 15th minute of the match Pedro Campos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacinto Borges showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Francisco Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Azevedo in the 21st minute of play. When Jorge Matos fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Biscaia's protests and gave Jorge Matos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd match minute, SC Biscaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Matos to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Freitas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Alfredo Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Golpilheira FC's Jacinto Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Moreira in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiago Lopes was the one to do the kick off. Manuel Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Lopes in the 58th minute of play forced Golpilheira FC's goalkeeper Jacinto Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Trindade hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Alfredo Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jacinto Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, SC Biscaia's Jacinto Borges threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tiago Lopes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of SC Biscaia booed when Golpilheira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bento Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Tiago Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Biscaia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiago Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Matos was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jorge Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 77thth minute of the game Luís Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Biscaia's Francisco Freitas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Francisco Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisco Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Biscaia! Emanuel Delgado shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Francisco Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Azevedo in the 94th minute of the match. Golpilheira FC's Luís Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Francisco Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
