The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivo Aires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hélder Bulhosa having to make a save. Ivo Aires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivo Aires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vítor Ferrão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Bulhosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivo Aires, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Hélder Bulhosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Aires in the 23rd minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Ivo Aires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Mindelo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivo Aires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Ivo Aires notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Benagouro FC's Hélder Bulhosa. Hélder Bulhosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hélder Bulhosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivo Aires in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivo Aires in the 35th minute of play forced Benagouro FC's goalkeeper Hélder Bulhosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivo Aires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Hélder Bulhosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mário Sardinha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the game, SC Mindelo's Ivo Aires nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hélder Bulhosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Ivo Aires made the kick off in the second half. Silvano Gonçalves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hélder Bulhosa having to make a save. If Ivo Aires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute Ivo Aires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Bulhosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Januário Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 57 minutes, Ivo Aires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Mindelo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivo Aires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hélder Bulhosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivo Aires in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélder Bulhosa saved Benagouro FC from getting behind. Hélder Bulhosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Aires in the 78th minute of the match. Ivo Aires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Bulhosa having to interfere. After having played for 83 minutes, Vítor Ferrão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Mindelo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Ferrão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivo Aires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The corner led to SC Mindelo's Mário Sardinha getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 95 minutes into the match, SC Mindelo's Ivo Aires sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hélder Bulhosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Benagouro FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Mindelo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
