Fernando Quintela's late challenge caught a Jomar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Quintela helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, Jordão Barroso made a precise shot to the right of Reginaldo Póvoas. Padroso FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
