José Delgado came out of the goal and Basílio Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Filipe Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Adolfo Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolfo Garcia came out of the goal and Filipe Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diogo Lisboa kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Lucas Carvalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palheirao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Carneiro in the 23rd minute of play forced Palmeiral's goalkeeper José Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélder Vieira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Adolfo Garcia made a huge save. Vicente Carneiro took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Delgado. José Delgado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Adolfo Garcia made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Hélder Vieira sent off a good shot on target. Palmeiral's Godofredo Clemencin got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hélder Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Adolfo Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Palmeiral's Filipe Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, Palmeiral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Faro to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hélder Vieira was the one to do the kick off. Adolfo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Filipe Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiral's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Filipe Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th minute Lucas Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Delgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Paulo Faro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiral's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palheirao the free kick. A collision led to Palmeiral getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Paulo Faro hit a great ball. André Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Adolfo Garcia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vítor Coelho got a throw-in 77 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Basílio Castro. A collision led to Palheirao getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Vicente Carneiro hit a great ball. Palmeiral's José Delgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Palmeiral from getting a goal against them. During the 88th minute of the match Paulo Faro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulo Faro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 88th minute, Paulo Faro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palmeiral's attentive Hélder Vieira managed to snatch the ball when Vítor Coelho made a throw-in in the 96th minute of the game. Chants of Palheirao echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Palmeiral had held the ball for most of the match.
