Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fábio Setúbal started the match with the kick off. Afonso Pedroso didn't quite understand what happened when in the 18 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Beirolas's supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio Setúbal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastião Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sebastião Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fábio Setúbal, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After having played for 48 minutes, Ricardo Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beirolas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Menezes made a kick off. If Luís Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the SC Gouvinhas defense, Fábio Setúbal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastião Reis. The SC Gouvinhas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastião Reis should have stopped the shot. Samuel Menezes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Viana having to interfere. Fábio Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Luís Camargo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Bernardo Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85thth minute of the game Fábio Setúbal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Gouvinhas's Sebastião Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Setúbal in the 88th minute of play forced SC Gouvinhas's goalkeeper Sebastião Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 played minutes SC Gouvinhas got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Lamego. Sebastião Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Setúbal in the 90th minute of the match. Bernardo Viana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuel Menezes's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. When Lucas Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beirolas's protests and gave Lucas Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 played minutes Beirolas got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Abreu. If Samuel Menezes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Gouvinhas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
