Paulo Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Andrade in the 18th minute of the match. Paulo Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, G D PRAÇA DA REPUBLICA's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Andrade came free, but Paulo Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Jacinto Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Albertino Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Albertino Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Rodrigo Andrade made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes G D PRAÇA DA REPUBLICA got a freekick which was hit by Joel Soares. Basílio Gonçalves took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Lima. Bruno Lima dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Paulo Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Hélder Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hélder Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. If António Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Bairrao FC's Mário Cabral slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulo Cruz. That made the score 1-2 after 89 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, G D PRAÇA DA REPUBLICA's Jacinto Guarda got a free kick in the 94th minute.
