Joel Maia was a little too slow when Timóteo Soares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. SanPower's Osvaldo Azenha got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When SanPower's Timóteo Soares in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Avinjes's goalie prevented a goal. In the 32nd match minute, Avinjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Porto to maneuver through the defense. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Maia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Óscar Fraga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Joel Maia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Avinjes's Joel Maia got control of the ball when Óscar Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Osvaldo Azenha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Óscar Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Sales having to interfere. Óscar Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Joel Maia made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 52 played minutes Avinjes got a freekick which was hit by Luís Cardoso. In the 53rd minute of the match Delfim Passos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joel Maia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Timóteo Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timóteo Soares in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Maia saved Avinjes from getting behind. Óscar Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Joel Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Timóteo Soares came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the SanPower fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timóteo Soares couldn't finish the play. Joel Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timóteo Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Óscar Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Gonçalves in the 80th minute of play forced SanPower's goalkeeper Artur Sales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, SanPower's goalkeeper Artur Sales had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armando Fernandes. Avinjes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Timóteo Soares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Avinjes's zone, Óscar Fraga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Maia came out of the goal and Óscar Fraga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95thth minute of the game Timóteo Soares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Avinjes's Joel Maia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joel Maia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Óscar Fraga went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score.
