Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cristiano Henriques started the match with the kick off. Valter Salazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 7thth minute of the game Eduardo Sampaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varziela's Álvaro Mendes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Varziela getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Nuno Pinheiro hit a great ball. Márcio Madeira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Varziela were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Arranhadouro FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rui Ramos took the corner. If Cristiano Henriques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armindo Abreu charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armindo Abreu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Varziela's Armindo Abreu got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Valter Salazar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Álvaro Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Varziela defense, Valter Salazar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Álvaro Mendes. The Varziela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Álvaro Mendes should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eduardo Sampaio to strike the kick off in the second half. When Cristiano Borges fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varziela's protests and gave Cristiano Borges a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute of the match Rui Ramos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Micael Couto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Álvaro Mendes didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 59th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. After 63 played minutes Arranhadouro FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Sampaio. Cristiano Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute Eduardo Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eduardo Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valter Salazar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Álvaro Mendes made a huge save. Valter Salazar might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valter Salazar ran back to his position shaking his head. After 89 minutes of play, Varziela's Nuno Amorim made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Micael Couto was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 95th minute, Valter Salazar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valter Salazar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Álvaro Mendes having to make a save. Arranhadouro FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
