Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Joaquim Matos started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Manuel Saldanha in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Abel Santana, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Abel Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Matos in the 15th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, SC Sardao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Valente to maneuver through the defense. Idalécio Pádua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Figueiredo in the 22nd minute of play. When Manuel Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the SC Sardao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Saldanha couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Julião Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarbas Valente's late challenge caught a Ferrol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jarbas Valente helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Ferrol a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marco Gouveia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Sardao's Idalécio Pádua. 0-1. Adérito Perdigão charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adérito Perdigão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adérito Perdigão hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Manuel Saldanha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abel Santana. Ferrol's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Saldanha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Manuel Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Santana having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Saldanha got free with Abel Santana in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes into the match, Ferrol's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Matos came free, but Abel Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Santana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Matos's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Figueiredo was the one to do the kick off. Joaquim Matos struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Abel Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Sardao. Ferrol's Abel Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Saldanha in the 53rd minute of play. When Adérito Perdigão came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the SC Sardao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adérito Perdigão couldn't finish the play. Joaquim Matos struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Rodolfo Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Leonel Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ramiro Porto fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ferrol's protests and gave Ramiro Porto a yellow card for diving instead. Ramiro Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Julião Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Matos in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Santana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 78th minute of the match SC Sardao got a corner. Ferrol's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Januário Portela ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to SC Sardao's Leonel Sanches getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 80th minute Joaquim Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Santana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Manuel Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Abel Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Manuel Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 minutes of play, SC Sardao's Joaquim Matos made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abel Santana was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Sardao walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
