Diamantino Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Coelho in the 15th minute of the match. SC Almada's Sebastião Leiria got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Diamantino Martins managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when SC Almada's Hélder Coelho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastião Leiria in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diamantino Martins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 78 minutes into the match, SC Almada's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Viana came free, but Armindo Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that José Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armindo Rodrigues was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. When the match was over SC Almada could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Monterecos throughout the match.
