Areja's Zacarias Patrício proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Areja from getting a goal against them. Josué Lencastre hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Zacarias Patrício showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel lago in the 22nd minute of the match. Alcino Vilhena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zacarias Patrício read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Alcino Vilhena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Zacarias Patrício made a huge save. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Gravelos's goalkeeper Gustavo Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Gravelos's Alcino Vilhena slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zacarias Patrício. That made the score 1-1 after 32 minutes of play. Sálvio Vilas Boas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Zacarias Patrício tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Manuel lago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Josué Lencastre kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

After having played for 56 minutes, Alcino Vilhena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Gravelos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alcino Vilhena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th match minute, Areja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angélico Delgado to maneuver through the defense. Zacarias Patrício made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel lago in the 62nd minute of play. Zacarias Patrício showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alcino Vilhena in the 64th minute of the match. Manuel lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zacarias Patrício having to interfere. When Daniel Infante, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 77 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gustavo Lima was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in SC Gravelos's zone, Daniel Infante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Lima came out of the goal and Daniel Infante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Daniel Infante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacarias Patrício showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Gustavo Lima came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Areja's Cristiano Estrela. But to his dismay, Cristiano Estrela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Areja's Cristiano Estrela slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gustavo Lima. That made the score 1-3 after 96 minutes of play. The SC Gravelos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Areja's performance. The match ended with a win for Areja.
