The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. SC Aguiar's João Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Moura in the 15th minute of play. João Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Macas's zone, Jorge Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandro Alves came out of the goal and Jorge Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Jorge Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sandro Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Pedroso in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Gil Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso Pedroso in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandro Alves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th match minute, Macas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Soares to maneuver through the defense. Afonso Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Sandro Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Aguiar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A very good chance. 91 minutes into the game, Gaspar Paiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Aguiar the free kick. Afonso Pedroso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Alves having to interfere. SC Aguiar were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
