The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Gaspar got free with Hugo Figueiredo in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Jesualdo Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valdigem's supporters rose to their feet, but Jesualdo Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdigem's Hipólito Varanda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Valdigem from getting a goal against them. If André Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
