Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Israel Madeira in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rui Faro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Nuno Lessa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Sousa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 37th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Godinho's Rui Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Godinho from getting a goal against them.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hélder Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedro Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salvador Ramalho having to interfere. Godinho's Rui Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Madeira in the 64th minute of play. The supporters of Mafamude booed when Godinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godinho's Rui Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Madeira in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Hélder Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Abílio Pestana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mafamude's supporters rose to their feet, but Abílio Pestana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Faro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 87 minutes into the match, Mafamude's goalkeeper Salvador Ramalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Bessa. Salvador Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Abílio Pestana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mafamude's Abílio Pestana got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Salvador Ramalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Godinho supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Godinho would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
