FC Carcavelos's Amável Castilho got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amável Castilho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amável Castilho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salvador Ramalho having to interfere. Salvador Ramalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Afonso Pacheco in the 19th minute. Amável Castilho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 21st minute. FC Carcavelos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 23rd minute Amável Castilho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amável Castilho in the 24th minute of play forced Mafamude's goalkeeper Salvador Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abílio Pestana in the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the FC Carcavelos defense, Israel Madeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristiano Cabral. The FC Carcavelos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristiano Cabral should have stopped the shot. Salvador Ramalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Afonso Pacheco in the 31st minute. In the 32nd match minute, Mafamude was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Lessa to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amável Castilho in the 34th minute of play forced Mafamude's goalkeeper Salvador Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Afonso Pacheco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Carcavelos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Pacheco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonso Pacheco got free with Salvador Ramalho in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the match, Mafamude's goal looked a bit too open when Amável Castilho came free, but Salvador Ramalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Mafamude's Israel Madeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristiano Cabral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristiano Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abílio Pestana in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Israel Madeira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cristiano Cabral came out and tried to block the shot, but Israel Madeira slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 59th minute. In the 62nd minute, Normando Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Israel Madeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amável Castilho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mafamude were furious when Porfírio Monteiro was red carded, 77 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mafamude! Afonso Pacheco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Salvador Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norberto Miguéis's late challenge caught a FC Carcavelos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Norberto Miguéis helped the player get up and apologised. Salvador Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amável Castilho in the 87th minute of the match. Sérgio Póvoas kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. If Abílio Pestana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mafamude had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
