In the 20th minute, Amável Castilho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Afonso Pacheco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Faro having to interfere. After 37 played minutes, Godinho's Amadeu Brás shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cristiano Cabral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Godinho reached it. Amável Castilho struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Rui Faro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Carcavelos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Bessa got free with Cristiano Cabral in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amável Castilho couldn't finish the play. Afonso Pacheco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Rui Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hélder Santos in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Cabral saved FC Carcavelos from getting behind. Amável Castilho might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui Faro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After a defensive mix-up in Godinho's zone, Afonso Pacheco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rui Faro came out of the goal and Afonso Pacheco tried to chip the ball over his head.
