The supporters of SC Choupico booed when Tondela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leal Aveiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leal Aveiro kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 20 played minutes Tondela FC got a freekick which was hit by Leal Aveiro. Pedro Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Valério Caires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Tondela FC got a freekick which was hit by Severino Lopes. In the 31st minute David Guarda suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Leal Aveiro charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leal Aveiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Tondela FC's Leal Aveiro got a free kick in the 32nd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Santarém was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, SC Choupico's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Sacadura came free, but Paulo Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valério Caires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 93 minutes, Pedro Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Choupico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Santarém was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 96 minutes into the match, SC Choupico's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Sacadura came free, but Paulo Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that SC Choupico were the better team. SC Choupico's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
