The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to SC Boico getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Diamantino Loureiro hit a great ball. Jorge Valentim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Trindade having to interfere. If Rui Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herberto Benevides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafim Guterres having to interfere. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Boico's goalkeeper Serafim Guterres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Valentim in the 35th minute of play forced Palhoca's goalkeeper David Trindade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Boico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Valentim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Trindade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Valentim in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristiano Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Rui Matos put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Serafim Guterres. After a defensive mix-up in SC Boico's zone, Cristiano Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serafim Guterres came out of the goal and Cristiano Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute, Cristiano Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rui Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Palhoca booed when SC Boico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute Cristiano Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafim Guterres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palhoca's David Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Valentim in the 84th minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Boico defense, Rui Matos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serafim Guterres. The SC Boico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serafim Guterres should have stopped the shot. Rui Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Serafim Guterres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
