Ronaldo Braga came out of the goal and Alexandre Freitas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronaldo Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Borba, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After having played for 14 minutes, Rogério Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mariz FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogério Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute Alexandre Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Viana's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Ronaldo Braga skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Aristides Tinoco took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastião Resende. Sebastião Resende dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rogério Viana who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Ronaldo Braga when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rogério Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ronaldo Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FEIOS PORCOS E MAUS's Ronaldo Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Freitas in the 33rd minute of play. When Alexandre Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Mariz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Freitas couldn't finish the play. Rogério Viana scored 1-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo Braga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alexandre Freitas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronaldo Braga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Alexandre Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo Braga having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and António Salvado made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Freitas in the 53rd minute of play forced FEIOS PORCOS E MAUS's goalkeeper Ronaldo Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
