Medeiros FC's Sandro Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joaquim Leal made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Manuel Abreu sent off a good shot on target. In the 23rd match minute, SC Taloes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Pinho to maneuver through the defense. If Manuel Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute of the match, Joaquim Almeida tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joaquim Leal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Medeiros FC's goalkeeper José Moniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Manuel Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joaquim Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Manuel Abreu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SC Taloes getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Duarte Moura hit a great ball. Joaquim Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Tiago Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Taloes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 68 minutes, André Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Taloes's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 minutes, Duarte Luz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medeiros FC and the SC Taloes players grew even worse after the yellow card. If André Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernando Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Moniz having to interfere. The SC Taloes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Taloes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
