João Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of SC Medas booed when SC Chellas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Almeida. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. 32 minutes into the match, SC Chellas's Miguel Fontes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Almeida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If André Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Pinheiro got free with Nuno Castro in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nuno Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Machado's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. João Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Almeida having to interfere. A collision led to SC Medas getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Joaquim Fernandes hit a great ball.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Araújo during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. SC Medas's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Nuno Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Medas. Joaquim Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes SC Medas got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Fernandes. João Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Almeida having to interfere. João Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute, André Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 89 minutes, Ricardo Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Medas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Machado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute, Raul Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the match, SC Medas's Manuel Sá broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
