When Jacinto Guerreiro fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cabos's protests and gave Jacinto Guerreiro a yellow card for diving instead. 8 minutes into the game, SC Encoberta's Paulo Guerreiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adolfo Setúbal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, SC Encoberta's Afonso Moura got a free kick in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Miguel Bessa managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Encoberta's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Bessa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Setúbal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Inácio Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Adolfo Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inácio Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the game, Joaquim Resende was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Cabos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Encoberta the free kick. Joaquim Resende hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Júlio Trindade received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Leão came out and tried to block the shot, but Júlio Trindade slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 24th minute. A collision led to SC Cabos getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Joaquim Resende hit a great ball. David Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Leão was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Júlio Trindade capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Júlio Trindade really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. José Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Veiga in the 37th minute. Miguel Bessa succeeded in the game's 39th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. If Miguel Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Garcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolfo Setúbal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Júlio Trindade to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes SC Encoberta got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Bessa. SC Cabos's Júlio Trindade got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Inácio Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, SC Encoberta's Inácio Garcia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Setúbal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 69th minute Inácio Garcia suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 69 minutes, Alexandre Amorim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Cabos and the SC Encoberta players grew even worse after the yellow card. David Veiga took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Leão. José Leão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Júlio Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of SC Cabos booed when SC Encoberta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Encoberta! In the 88th minute there was a penalty for SC Cabos. Jacinto Guerreiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Leão. 5-2. In the 92nd minute, David Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Cabos were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Encoberta for a fine match.
