The referee ignored SC Baralho's protests and gave Lourenço Faro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Baralho getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Lourenço Faro hit a great ball. Diogo Pacheco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Humberto Coelho. SC Baralho's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. SC Vairao's Diamantino Lopes pulled a muscle in his back after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Afonso Valente's late challenge caught a SC Vairao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Valente helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of SC Baralho:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Vairao:s goal. After 23 minutes, António Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Vairao and the SC Baralho players grew even worse after the yellow card. António Leal hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, SC Baralho's Eduardo Coimbra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Filipe Moutinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Filipe Moutinho was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Eusébio Azevedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
