Amadeu Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo Torres having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Amadeu Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If André Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Favaios's Cristiano Pinto got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lourenço Queirós having to interfere. Bonfim's Américo Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Nascimento in the 31st minute of play. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Favaios's goalkeeper Lourenço Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristiano Pinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo Torres having to interfere. In the 46th minute of the match Simão Campos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lourenço Queirós skillfully saved the ball. Américo Torres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristiano Pinto in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 58 minutes, Oliveira Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Favaios and the Bonfim players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Favaios's Oliveira Domingues got a free kick in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Simão Campos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lourenço Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th minute, Oliveira Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Bonfim's zone, Cristiano Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Américo Torres came out of the goal and Cristiano Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Carneiro's late challenge caught a Bonfim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Carneiro helped the player get up and apologised. 94 minutes into the match, SC Favaios's goal looked a bit too open when André Cabral came free, but Lourenço Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Lourenço Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SC Favaios supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bonfim's performance. The match ended with a win for Bonfim.
