Rui Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Aleixo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Gondim's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Sá came free, but Rogério Aleixo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Moreira struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Ricardo Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gondim. Cândido Pedroso's late challenge caught a Gondim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cândido Pedroso helped the player get up and apologised. Cândido Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaspar Assis in the 14th minute of play forced Ladario's goalkeeper Ricardo Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th match minute, Ladario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heitor Cunha to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Gondim's Joel Maia got a free kick in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Gaspar Assis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gondim's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaspar Assis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 24 minutes, Rui Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ladario's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viriato Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricardo Queirós was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from André Cardoso. The supporters of Gondim booed when Ladario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gondim were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Ladario's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luís Campos took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Joel Maia managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 43 minutes into the game, Gaspar Assis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ricardo Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 47 minutes into the game, Joel Maia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gondim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ladario the free kick. In the 47th match minute, Gondim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Maia to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Heitor Cunha didn't quite understand what happened when in the 48 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rui Abreu to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Gondim booed when Ladario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heitor Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Assis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gondim's Manuel Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Moreira in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gondim were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Ladario's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luís Campos took the corner. After taking down the ball on Gondim's corner Luís Campos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ricardo Queirós quite easily take care of the ball. 74 minutes into the game, Alfredo Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viriato Sá got free with Rogério Aleixo in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 93 minutes into the match, Manuel Moreira notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ladario's Ricardo Queirós. Ricardo Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
