Domingos Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Jorge Amaro made a huge save. Domingos Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 27 minutes, Filipe Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Dem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, SC Dem's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Mota came free, but Jorge Amaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Bernardo Mota made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Magalhães in the 57th minute of play forced SC Dem's goalkeeper Jorge Amaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bernardo Mota came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the SC Leiao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Mota couldn't finish the play. After 63 minutes, Inácio Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Leiao and the SC Dem players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SC Leiao getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Inácio Simões hit a great ball. Diamantino Coimbra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Augusto Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Filipe Barbosas short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Augusto Azevedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bernardo Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Amaro having to interfere. In the 81st minute Bernardo Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Amaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Domingos Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Amaro. SC Dem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domingos Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jorge Amaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Mota's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Filipe Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Augusto Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Dem. If Diamantino Coimbra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Leiao's goalkeeper Augusto Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Domingos Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jorge Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
