To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th match minute, Rompecilha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Gueifão to maneuver through the defense. Abel Pinto, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 38th minute, Bernardo Mota made a precise shot to the right of Miguel Anjos. Rompecilha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 41st match minute, SC Leiao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Santos to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Bernardo Mota kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Miguel Anjos. That made the score 0-3 in the 63 minute of play. Domingos Magalhães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Anjos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Augusto Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Pinto in the 71st minute of the match. Miguel Anjos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Mota in the 76th minute of play.
