But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armindo Ferro couldn't finish the play. After 21 played minutes Silval got a freekick which was hit by Armindo Ferro. João Ferro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Silval's João Ferro got control of the ball when Duarte Veiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rafael Pedroso's late challenge caught a Sorro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael Pedroso helped the player get up and apologised. After 36 played minutes Silval got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Pedroso. Emanuel Valente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sorro booed when Silval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Ferro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 42nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nuno Soares. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armindo Ferro in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 46 minutes into the match, Silval's goalkeeper João Ferro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duarte Veiga.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Silval defense, Duarte Veiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Ferro. The Silval fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Ferro should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mário Fontes during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 59 minutes, Armindo Ferro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Silval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Ferro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Silval's zone, Manuel Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Ferro came out of the goal and Manuel Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. If João Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Duarte Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sorro's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Ferro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Borba hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Duarte Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Ferro having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Armindo Ferro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Sorro's goalkeeper Amadeu Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Valente.
