After a defensive mix-up in Boleiros's zone, Tomás Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Teixeira came out of the goal and Tomás Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the match, Boleiros's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Esteves came free, but Alberto Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cândido Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandro Matos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Lisboa's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Alberto Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Resende in the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, SC Matosos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Resende to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Cândido Gaspar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Teixeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sandro Matos made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Jaime Lisboa sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Amaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Boleiros's Jaime Lisboa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sandro Matos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Resende couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded SC Matosos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Boleiros.
