Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Araújo to make the kick off. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Barroso. The referee gave Coito a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Inácio Carneiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Barroso's Armando Figueiredo. 2-2. After 85 played minutes Coito got a freekick which was hit by André Amaral. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emílio Teixeira got free with Cristiano Garcia in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Coito's zone, José Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Garcia came out of the goal and José Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
